I can’t believe I’m going to miss the Stars tour this summer.

The video for Murder By Death’s “White Noise” was created by Australian animator/design team of MaricorMaricar based on a storyboard by cellist Sarah Balliet. The song is a standout on the band’s fifth long-player, Good Morning, Magpie out now on Vagrant Records. It’s a bit more spacious and ominous than anything on the last record, recalling the dark overtones of Who Will Survive and What Will Be Left of Them? The new record took a few listens for me to sink my teeth into it, but it’s turning into one of my favorites of the year so far. These guys are always way more aggressive and intense live, so try to see them when they hit your town. And, trust me, they will. Murder By Death’s touring schedule is unceasing.

Uhh. This is an odd video treatment for Foals. Lots of sunshine and brightly colored outfits certainly tie in with my preconceived notions of Miami. And, I guess, if I think about it really hard, so do oiled up bodybuilders, some of whom may or may not be trannies. Still, a totally weird aesthetic for a Foals tune. Can’t say I’m going to return to this clip, though.
