I heard a track from San Francisco’s The Art Museums on WUSC a few weeks ago and I’ve been smitten with their new(ish) record, Rough Frame, ever since. As Pitchfork says “the duo enthusiastically professes the lo-fi indie pop religion of heroes Television Personalities and legendary labels like Sarah, Slumberland, K, and Flying Nun.” Not a bad recipe.

Moby visits NPR’s Project Song
It takes weeks, even years, to write a song. NPR Music’s Project Song challenges musicians to do it in just two days. And every Project Song participant has worked right up to the last minute — that is, until Moby.

MP3: New Interpol “Lights”
Activity in the land of Interpol. The band’s website Interpolnyc.com has simply stated “2010” for a few months with no real clue as to what or when something might happen. An email went out to fans this evening with a link to the home page, which greets you with daunting music and a new, space-age logo along with the above embeddable widget. A download of a the brand new track “Lights” is available if you’re willing to turn over your birthday and your email address. My download just finished, but the wiry guitar is instantly familiar, as is Paul Banks’ dramatic baritone. It’s a slow-build, but Interpol 2010 sounds to be in fine form.
